As we approach our starting point, the magnificent Salkantay Mountain comes into view. Standing at 6,271 meters (20,574 feet), it greets us with its awe-inspiring presence.

Upon arrival at Soraypampa, sitting at 3,900 meters (12,795 feet), we start our ascent towards Lake Humantay. The trail winds through a stunning Andean landscape. It offers panoramic views that are nothing short of mesmerizing. The hike to Lake Humantay spans about 6 kilometers (3.7 miles) one way.

My trek to Lake Humantay was an unforgettable experience filled with stunning landscapes and a sense of adventure.
